Alfred C. Abitz, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Tacoma, Wash. A resident for 40 years, he was a postmaster and a World War II Navy veteran.

John Arch
John Arch, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 30, 1921, in Greenwood, Wis. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired manager in the gaming industry, a professional musician and vocalist in Palm Springs, Calif., and Las Vegas, a World War II Navy pilot and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1753.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Jim Arch of Yucca Valley, Calif., and Keith Wilkerson of Las Vegas; six daughters, Diane Weaver, Kathy Hicks and Denise Roza, all of Las Vegas, Susie Gerdleman and Mary Jo Anderson, both of Yucca Valley, and Georgette MacIntire of Delphi, Ind.; one brother, Joe Arch of Joshua Tree, Calif.; one sister, Mary Taczala of Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. Graveside services will be 10:45 a.m. Oct. 20 in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Jack Stanley Berryman
Jack Stanley Berryman, 64, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 3, 1934, in Colorado. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Constance; and one sister, Belly Joan Ruggs of Boulder, Colo.

Cliff Douglas Bolduc
Cliff Douglas Bolduc, 37, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Jan. 16, 1961, in Maryland. A resident for six months, he was a welder fabricator and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his father, Melvin Pete of Virginia; his mother, Andrea Lucille Garreau of Southern California; one son, Richard Bolduc, and two daughters, Laura Bolduc and Elizabeth Bolduc, all of Idaho; and one sister, Lynn Collea of Tennessee.

Nadya Calzada
Nadya Calzada, 8 weeks, died Oct. 4 in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 5, 1998, in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her father, Zeth Calzada, and her mother, Carla Cobian, both of North Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled noon-1 p.m. Wednesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Leland Neil Danielson Jr.
Leland Neil Danielson Jr., 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Missouri. A resident for six months, he was a bricklayer and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Schmitt of Illinois, Marilyn Merica of New Mexico and Betty DeCracker of Nevada; and one brother, Gerald Danielson of Arizona.

Viola V. Diehl
Viola V. Diehl, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Dec. 31, 1911, in New York. A resident for four years, she was a manager at an insurance company.
She is survived by one son, George Diehl of Las Vegas; one sister, Ann Dombroski of New Jersey; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Joseph Louis Duperron
Joseph Louis Duperron, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born April 11, 1926, in Rhode Island. A resident for three years, he was a security officer for a chemical company and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; three brothers, Lionel Duperron, Lucien Duperron and Richard Duperron, and one sister, Dolores Powers, all of California.

John Ellsworth Glodfelter Sr.
John Ellsworth Glodfelter Sr., 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 14, 1929, in Mifflinville, Pa. A resident for 26 years, he was an advertising salesman for Sports Display Inc. in Santa Margarita, Calif., managed Briar Heights Lodge in Berwick, Pa., and Malibu Pier in Malibu, Calif., and was a veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons, John Jr., James and Jeffrey, and two daughters, Jacqueline and Janice, all of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Daniel Lagos
Daniel Lagos, 17, of North Las Vegas died Oct. 4 in North Las Vegas. He was born May 21, 1981, in Mexico. A resident for one year, he was a student.
He is survived by his father, Juan Lagos Solares; and his mother, Nicolasa Hernandez Nie.
Visitation is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Tuesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be in Mexico.
Melba Irene Lamme
Melba Irene Lamme, 87, of Santa Barbara, Calif., died Sunday in Santa Barbara. She was born March 28, 1911, in Cherryville, Kan. A former Las Vegas resident for 44 years, she was a businesswoman.
She is survived by one son, Earl Clark of Santa Barbara; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to noon services Friday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Velma Aileene Lane
Velma Aileene Lane, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 2, 1916, in Romney, Texas. A resident for 28 years, she was a peanut farmer.
She is survived by one daughter, Dixie Faye Grogan of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

John S. 'Mac' McEwan
John S. 'Mac' McEwan, 81, of Boulder City died Friday in Boulder City. He was born Dec. 18, 1916, in Shelley, Idaho. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired hydraulic engineer for the federal government, a retired Army colonel and World War II veteran, a Boulder City councilman for many years, a member of the National Rifle Association and the Boulder City Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Beaulah L.; one daughter, Leslie McEwan of LaMesa, Calif.; one son, John McEwan of Olympia, Wash.; one brother, Bill McEwan of Ridgecrest, Calif.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one half hour prior to 11 a.m. services Wednesday in the Black Canyon Ward LDS Chapel, Boulder City. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Florence A. McGill
Florence A. McGill, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Belvidere, Ill. A resident for 30 years, she was a brailist for the Clark County School District.
She is survived by her husband, Arthor; three sons, Michael, Timothy and Joseph; one daughter, Patricia; two brothers, Dale Scherwin of Wisconsin and Allen Scherwin of Arizona; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be noon Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Marcelo Mendoza
Marcelo Mendoza, 27, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 29, 1970, in Mexico. A resident for three years, he was a carpenter.
He is survived by his father, Ismael Mendoza, his mother, Ramona Rubio, six brothers, Daniel Mendoza, Jesus Mendoza, Samuel Mendoza, Arnoldo Mendoza, Ismael Mendoza and Felipe Mendoza, and four sisters, Olivia Mendoza, Ameli Mendoza, Tesdolina Mendoza and Maria Isabel Mendoza, all of Mexico.
Visitation was scheduled 1-4 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be in Mexico.
David Rogers
David Rogers, 82, of Las Vegas died Oct. 6 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 15, 1916, in California. A resident for many years, he was an electrical engineer.
He is survived by one sister, Mary Ficarra of Canton, Ohio; and one nephew, Mark Ficarra of Phoenix.

Eugene Silver
Eugene Silver, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 25, 1918, in Philadelphia. A resident for two years, he was a shoe store owner and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian; two daughters, Meryl R. Townes and Shelley L. Fischer, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Lillian Roth of Philadelphia.
A private entombment will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
David Melvin Spencer
David Melvin Spencer, 53, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born June 6, 1945, in Las Vegas. A resident for two years, he was a warehouse laborer and an Air Force sergeant.
He is survived by two sons, Tony Spencer of Denver and Todd Spencer; and one daughter, Tammy Spencer of Austin, Texas.

Judge Russell B. Taylor
Judge Russell B. Taylor, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 3, 1919, in San Antonio. A resident for 69 years, he was a retired federal judge, a World War II veteran, a member of the American Legion, Elks and Nevada Bar Association.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Taylor; four stepdaughters, Nicola Sandars of Redwood City, Calif., Camille Taylor of San Jose, Calif., Gaye Haase of Olympia, Wash., and Jill Sanders of New Orleans; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to the UNLV General Scholarship Fund.
