Letter: Nevada hurt by California verdict

This even in view of the facts returned from the latest study by the U.S. Geological Survey and other groups that show a great increase of MTBE in Lake Tahoe water after a summer of boating activity. And "they" said it must be auto exhaust. Really. Then how come there was no MTBE in an adjacent lake in the Tahoe Basin that does not allow motor driven boats?
At least the two-stroke wave runners will be gone. That's good. Good for the swimmers and good for the ears of the nonswimmers.
Hey, I've got a good idea. Don't allow any boats that come from California onto the lake. Make them put in with empty gas tanks from the Nevada side and only buy gas in Nevada.
No, that wouldn't work. After all, Californians have their rights, to continue ruining Nevada's way of life.
