Stephane Morin, who won the International Hockey League scoring title for the 1994-95 season, died on the bench during a game while playing for a team in Germany. He was 29.
Morin apparently suffered a heart attack while playing for the Berlin Capitals of the German league Tuesday night, the IHL said.
He left the ice complaining of illness early in the second period of the game against Revier in Oberhausen, Germany, and collapsed later on the team's bench, the IHL said. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
