Ruth Abilock, 76, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 17, 1922, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired retail saleswoman.

She is survived by her husband, Irving; one daughter, Linda Gail Burgess of Henderson; two sisters, Janice McClanahan of Las Vegas and Edith Teifer of Pompton Lakes, N.J.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

CHARLES A. BROWN SR.

Charles A. Brown Sr., 74, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born June 18, 1924, in Texas. A resident for 47 years, he was a retired warehouseman for a chemical manufacturer, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Knights of Las Vegas and Henderson Motorcycle Club.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen "Penny"; nine daughters, Gwen Watkins of Aurora, Colo., Evelyn Thomas, Charla Brown and Kelly Young, all of Las Vegas, Carol Parker, Tanya Garcia and Kathy Clark, all of Henderson, Renee Brown of South Orange, N.J., and Lillian Abjaboya of Lagos, Nigeria; three sons, Charles Brown Jr., Lemuel Rucker and William P. Smith, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Mildred Walker of Amarillo, Texas; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Henderson.

HENRY THOMAS CARD

Henry Thomas Card, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Mississippi. A resident for 20 years, he was a meat cutter and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Thomas Card, and four daughters, Susan Card, Donna Card, Louise Card and Lea Card, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Jim Card of Squaw Valley, Calif., and El Card of California; two sisters, Jenny Lou Robinson and Marie Allen, both of Mississippi; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

JERRY COHEN

Jerry Cohen, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 26, 1932, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for seven years, he was a retired plastics manufacturer.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet; seven children, Lori, Michael and Alex, all of Oceanside, N.Y., and Jodi, Jon, Jason and Jennifer, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary's chapel, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

WILLIAM J. CONSINEAU

William J. Consineau, 55, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 18, 1942, in Michigan. A resident for many years, he was a laborer in the construction industry.

He is survived by one daughter, Bobbie Lo Consineau of South Carolina; and one sister, Mary J. Michley of Michigan.

SCOTT MICHAEL CORY

Scott Michael Cory, 27, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 26, 1970, in Eugene, Ore. A resident for 13 years, he was a bookkeeper for a retailer, a Valley High School graduate and attended UNLV.

He is survived by his parents, Ron and Elaine Cory of Las Vegas; one brother, Todd Cory of St. George, Utah; and grandmothers, Jesse Bandel of Sedona, Ariz., and Ann Cory of Eugene, Ore.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

RICHARD FRANKLIN DODGE

Richard Franklin Dodge, 74, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Rydal, Kan. A resident for 29 years, he was a carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union.

He is survived by five sons, Norman Morgan of Fresno, Calif., Harley Morgan of Santa Ana, Calif., Melvin Dodge of Las Vegas, John Dodge of Woodbridge, Va., and Ted Dodge of Orem, Utah; four daughters, Trudy Anderson of Rescue, Calif., Billie Schellabarger of Long Beach, Calif., Doris McMahon of Santa Ana and Faye Nix of Woodbridge; 33 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

HERBERT E. DRISKILL

Herbert E. Driskill, 77, of Tucson, Ariz., died Sept. 20 in Tucson. He was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Rich Hill, Mo. A former Las Vegas resident for 15 years, he was a grocery store clerk and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; one daughter, Deborah Driskill of Tucson; one son, Richard Bueher of Bakersfield, Calif.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Ernest Carl Ford, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 8, 1922, in Marysville, Kan. A resident for 47 years, he was a retired executive chef at the Barbary Coast hotel-casino and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; three daughters, Janeill Weiss, Stephanie Mills and Ashley Ford, and one son, Paul Ford, all of Las Vegas.

James A. Foster, 72, of Boulder City died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 3, 1926, in Orange, Texas. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired law enforcement officer and a World War II and Korean War veteran.

She is survived by three daughters; four sons; two brothers; one sister; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be private. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

VERNIE GAGLIANO

Vernie Gagliano, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born Jan. 10, 1915, in Milwaukee. A resident for 49 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four sons, Ted Gagliano Jr. and Ron Gagliano, both of Las Vegas, Bob Gagliano of Cottonwood, Ariz., and James Gagliano of Riverside, Calif.; one sister, Helen Kozal of Las Vegas; one brother, Victor Chambers of Sun City, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

C.J. 'TINY' GILLMAN

C.J. "Tiny" Gillman, 86, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 2, 1912, in Brookville, Ind. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired accounting comptroller.

He is survived by his wife, Ferrol; four daughters, Joyce Cole and Laura Darby, both of Henderson, Cheryl Rodrigues of Houston and Coleen Barbian of Las Vegas; one son, Gary Gillman of Morro Bay, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

GILBERT TANIOS HANASH

Gilbert Tanios Hanash, 17, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 28, 1981, in Las Vegas. He was a senior at Chaparral High School.

He is survived by his parents, Tanios and Najah Hanash, one brother, Alan Hanash, and one sister, Suzanne Hanash, all of Las Vegas.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway, followed by graveside services in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

KLENDON O. HATCH

Klendon O. Hatch, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1929, in Panguitch, Utah. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired electrical engineer for the Clark County School District.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; one son, Ben Jimenez of Las Vegas; five sisters, Beth Neilsen and Irene Judd, both of Las Vegas, Marie McCoy of Tillamook, Ore., Ruth Rencher of St. George, Utah, and Rita McArthur of Shelton, Wash.; two brothers, Lyman Hatch of Priest Lake, Idaho, and Del Hatch of Seal Beach, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

E. Fay Hawthorne, 55, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 5, 1942, in El Paso, Texas. A resident for 36 years, she was a newspaper contractor.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Casandra Forstner of Fort Meyers, Fla.; one son, John Brown of Hickory, N.C.; two sisters, Dorothy Morales of El Paso and Ann Beam of Las Vegas; one brother, Billy Picklesimer of El Paso; and 21 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

FRANKLIN HAWTHORNE

Franklin Hawthorne, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. He was born Aug. 22, 1912, in Waterbury, Conn. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired chauffeur for the federal government and a member of Paradise Senior Citizens and AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine; one son, Jack Hawthorne of Temecula, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be noon Thursday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Eldon Miller Langston, 83, of Pahrump died Friday in a local care center. He was born March 30, 1915, in Smith Center, Kan. A resident of Las Vegas for 36 years, he was a retired truck driver of 45 years and a member of Teamsters Local 631.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vyola; one son, Richard Clark Langston of Pahrump; two daughters, Kathleen McCann of California and Paula Chiles of Las Vegas; two sisters, Maxine Herder of California and Reifa Kanauss of Colorado; two brothers, Vincent Langston of Wyoming and Lowell Langston of California; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Charles Longdo, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 15, 1922, in New York City. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired plumber and World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by five daughters, Marsha Longdo, Julie West and Lisa Longdo, all of Las Vegas, Maureen Longdo of San Diego and Penny Schwartz of Akron, Ohio; two sons, Michael Longdo and Chris Longdo, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ernest J. Mertin, 92, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1906, in Astoria, N.Y. A resident for two years, he was a retired supervisor for a paint manufacturer and an avid saxophone player.

He is survived by one niece, Carol Corbett of Las Vegas; and one nephew, Edmund Schlegel of Capistrano Beach, Calif.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Graveside services will be private. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

URSULA M. O'DONNELL

Ursula M. O'Donnell, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local convalescent center. She was born April 2, 1921, in Borkum, Germany. A resident for 17 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four sons, John O'Donnell of Lenzburg, Ill., Lewis O'Donnell of Los Angeles, Robert O'Donnell of Fairborn, Ohio, and Thomas O'Donnell of Las Vegas; one daughter, Barbara Gabelli of Redbud, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

EIRA GARRATT O'MARR

Eira Garratt O'Marr, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 7, 1934, in the United Kingdom. A resident for six months, she was a wool shop owner.

She is survived by her husband, Sydney; and one daughter, Ema O'Marr of Canada.

JOYCE RIES-HELM

Joyce Ries-Helm, 64, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 11, 1934, in Eufaula, Okla. A resident for 42 years, she was a Clark County sheriff's deputy for 12 years, along with other areas of law enforcement, helped pioneer the computerization of the records division in law enforcement, traveled throughout the United States to teach other law enforcement agencies computerization and was past president of the Campfire Girls of Las Vegas.

She is survived by one son, Danny Ries of Reno; one brother, J.E. Courson of Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Jeanie Geiser of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

DOROTHY GERTRUDE STICE

Dorothy Gertrude Stice, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 10, 1918, in Iowa. A resident for six months, she was a homemaker.

Joshua Sumner, 21, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 24, 1976, in New York. A resident for three years, he was a sporting goods clerk.

Charlie Taravella, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 1, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 17 years, he was a carpenter for 35 years, a World War II Navy veteran, former vice president of Carpenters Local 1379, member of the Sons of Italy and the Italian-American Club.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; two daughters, Martha Taravella and Lisa Schaefer, both of Las Vegas; and two sons, Sammy Taravella of Florida and John Taravella of Las Vegas; and 11 grandchildren.

Mass was scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Caesar P. Tronolone a k a Jimmy Caesar, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 5, 1935, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for six years, he was an entertainer and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Velma; three brothers, John J. Tronolone, Frank Tronolone and Anthony Tronolone, all of Buffalo; six sisters, Teresa Savage of Buffalo, Agnes Gardner of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Sister Catherine Tronolone, O.S.F. of New Monmouth, N.J., Cecilia Simmet of Scottsdale, Ariz., Dolores Calabotta of Escondido, Calif., and Veronica Webdale of Daytona Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Adelle Gale, Cristie Madron and Darlene White, all of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Diane Collins of Dallas; two sons, James Vanderlaan of Las Vegas and Mike Vanderlaan of Houston; one brother, Richard Vanderlaan of Muskegon; and five grandchildren.

Rose M. Walk, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 30, 1911, in Menominee, Mich. A resident for six years, she was a retired executive secretary for the Steamship Company of Los Angeles.

She is survived by four stepdaughters, Betty Lukowicz and Jane Donahue, both of Antigo, Wis., Georgia Tesch of Green Bay, Wis., and Carol Eiter of Lake Worth, Fla.; one stepson, Harry Walk of Antigo; two sisters, Marcella A. Smith of Las Vegas and Josephine Selinsky of Green Bay; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Harlon White, 75, of Henderson died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born March 8, 1923 in St. Louis. A resident for 13 years, he was a radiology technician, most recently a physical education assistant at Ruby Thomas Elementary School and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Willa; one son, Larry White of Los Angeles; one stepson, Brian Bywaters of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Annise Prewitt of Monroe, Wash.; two brothers, Harold White of Pomona, Calif., and Donald White of California; one sister, Thelma O'Neal of Apple Valley, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
