Letter: This is no fan of rent control

I have lived in Las Vegas for six years and have never seen a need to complain about the rent. Our rent is still one of the lowest in the country. Have you seen the prices in Los Angeles and its suburbs?
I did a little calculation. You mention that in six years your rent has increased from $550 to $625. This means that your rent has increased $25 each year for an annual increase of 4.1 percent. I believe that falls within the standards you would set for rent control.
Rent control is not a good idea. If you are unhappy, maybe you should find another place to live. There are many apartment complexes in town that charge less and they are in good neighborhoods. My apartment complex is a good example. Good luck with your efforts.
