Letter: President should be given second chance
Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998 | 9:25 a.m.
Christ was crucified on the cross for a day. Clinton has been crucified in the media for weeks. He said he was sorry, he apologized, what do they want? Should he get down and grovel in the dirt to satisfy them. Certainly he was wrong to do what he did but impeachment will serve no purpose, except to weaken the fabric of our government.
These girls (floozies) who chase married men should learn to keep their mouths shut. Where is their pride and self-respect? I think they are enjoying the spotlight. Their lives are going on, and will no doubt be financially rewarded.
Nobody stood over them with a club and forced them to do what they did. Monica couldn't wait to tell her friends all the details -- that's love? Love lifts you up, it doesn't cast you down.
The only good thing to come out of this will be to make people stop and think before they act. If we were to clear out all the government workers for sexual misconduct, there wouldn't be anyone left but Newt Gingrich, maybe Kenneth Starr.
You are just as guilty if you sin your thoughts as in body -- just don't get caught.
To err is human, to forgive is divine.
