Tough notes -- The Nevada Symphonic Wind Ensemble will perform showpieces in the "Let's Be Difficult" concert, 2 p.m. Sunday at Nicholas J. Horn Theatre on the Community College of Southern Nevada's Cheyenne Campos. Admission is $5. Call 651-LIVE for details.
Young musicians -- The Las Vegas Youth Camerata Orchestra will perform an all-Beethoven concert 2 p.m. Saturday at the Winchester Community Center, 3130 S. McLeod Dr. Pianist and Las Vegas Academy student Alexandria Le will be a featured soloist. Admission is $2.
Bon Voyage -- The Las Vegas Valley of Fire Chorus will perform at its seventh annual Barbershop show titled "Harmony on the High C's" at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre. Proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Coalition of America. Admission is $10. Call 254-1780 for information.
Jazzercise? -- Saxophonists ad composers Gerald Albright and Michael Paulo, along with local jazz quartet The Coalition, will perform at the first annual YMCA Fremont Jazz Festival, 1-7 p.m. Saturday at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. Tickets are $20 general admission; $35 V.I.P. seating; children under 12 are admitted free. Call 387-9622 for details.
More jazz -- The UNLV Jazz Ensemble, directed by Rocky Winslow, will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave. Tickets are $7.

Heigh expectations -- Actors Repertory Theatre's production of the Pulitzer Prize-wining play "Talley's Folley" will be performed at the Summerlin Library Theatre today through Oct. 11. Tickets for the 8 p.m. performances (2 p.m. on Sundays) are $12.50-$20. Call the box office at 647-7469.
Child's play -- "The Dreaming Pool," staged for grammar school-age audiences, will be staged at 7 p.m. today and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday at at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. Tickets are $2,$3 and $5. (Performances continue Oct. 8-11.)

Calling all cultures -- The Las Vegas Folklife Festival, being held today and Saturday at the Rainbow Library Theatre, celebrates many cultures found in the valley. Pars National Ballet, performing traditional Persian dances, will take the stage at 7 p.m. today. Festival activities -- performances, demonstrations and food -- will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free; call 229-6704 for details.
Happy Birthday -- The Searchlight Centennial Celebration will be held Saturday and Sunday at Searchlight Community Center, 55 miles south of Las Vegas. A parade, dirt bike race, gold panning and an arts and crafts show will be among the activities. Call 297-1234 or 387-6393 for more information.
Oldies but goodies -- More than 50 antique dealers from throughout the nation will sell their aging treasures at the Fall Antique and Collecibles Extravaganza, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday at the Henderson Convention Center, 200 Water St. Admission is $4.50 for adults; $4 for seniors; children under 12 are admitted free.
Sports celebrities -- Baketball Hall of Famer Bill Walton, National Hockey League player Butch Goring, and former UNLV Runnin' Rebel Moses Scurry will sign autographs at a sports card, Beanie Babies and collectibles show, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Sam's Town. Admission is free.
