Letter: Clinton has taken the heat; now let him finish his job
Friday, Oct. 2, 1998 | 11:55 a.m.
A young woman saw a powerful man, exceedingly good-looking and she decided to have him, so she went out to get him involved. As Eve seduced Adam, this has been a woman's role ever since.
It's been the custom for the woman to refuse the advances, though at the same time wanting them. She is usually the one to hold the man back. Not Monica. She wanted him and he was too weak to resist.
This man has gone through a tougher time than most criminals who get sent to death row. Yes, he needed some punishment, and you men put him through an outrageous trail. But let me tell you this: He has withstood your scrutiny, your bashing, your stone throwing better than most men.
He's strong and determined and stood up valiantly to your questions and your accusations (true or not). His strength shows me that we have a president who is not afraid of your slurs and allegations and a man who is not shaking in his boots when he faces you.
We have a leader who can see us through some tough battles in war or in peace. A man who will stand up to his enemy, face him, then go on about world affairs.
Give us all a break. We do not condone what he did, but we think he needs to be let out of death's row and go to work on much bigger problems, problems that you guys aren't taking care of.
