Luana Jepson Bailey, 62, of Henderson died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 14, 1936, in Utah. A resident for 52 years, she was a retired casino cocktail waitress.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel Lavarve Smith of Las Vegas and Carl T. "Chuck" Jepson of West Hollywood, Calif.; two daughters, Lorna J. Watson of Las Vegas and Lisa Lynn Brown of Boulder City; two sisters, Karen Sherer and Jean Thrush, both of Overton; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
The family suggests donations to the Ronald McDonald House of Las Vegas, 2310 Paseo Del Prado, Suite 102, Las Vegas, NV 89102.
James Bass
James Bass, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 14, 1911, in Heartsville, Tenn. A resident for 27 years, he owned a self-service laundry.
He is survived by his wife, Nora M.; four daughters, Marilyn Hamer and Lora Maye Sheehan, both of California, Anna Loveless of Las Vegas and Elizabeth Culmone of New Mexico; two sons, Jim Bass of California and Earl Rhoades of Texas; and two grandchildren.
Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private arrangements.
Ursula A. Braithwaite
Ursula A. Braithwaite, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 20, 1918, in Hamburg, Germany. A resident for 29 years, she was in the film industry, a loving mother of four children, immigrated to the United States in the late 1940s and earned her citizenship at that time.
She is survived by two sons, Claude Braithwaire and Adrian Braithwaite, and one daughter, Marian Romero, all of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Martin Burkom
Martin Burkom, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 27, 1924, in Philadelphia. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired owner-operator of an automotive sales company.
He is survived by his wife, Irene.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Linda Morgan
Linda Morgan, 55, of Las Vegas died Nov. 19 in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 7, 1943, in Los Angeles. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Stacie Cornbleth of Las Vegas; three sons, David Cornbleth of Albuquerque, N.M., Vinnie Cornbleth of Las Vegas and Jamie Morgan of Thornton, Colo.; one brother, Marshall Rubin of Los Angeles; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Billy Joe Schmitt
Billy Joe Schmitt, 39, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 24, 1958, in Chicago. A resident for three years, he was a chef.
He is survived by one son, Billy Joe Schmitt, and one daughter, Christine Schmitt, both of Redondo Beach, Calif.; three brothers, Bobby Schmitt of Long Beach, Calif., Jerry Schmitt of Hesperia, Calif., and Donald Schmitt of Las Vegas; two sisters, Ruth Nichols of Salt Lake City and Patricia Llamas of Hesperia.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Virginia H. Schroeder
Virginia H. Schroeder, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 9, 1937, in Pennsylvania. A resident for six months, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Gordon of West Virginia and Joann Molchan of Las Vegas.
No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Christina Alison Stazenski
Christina Alison Stazenski, 34, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 10, 1964, in California. A resident for 21 years, she was a food service worker for the Clark County School District.
She is survived by her husband, Derek L.; her parents, Sanford and Anne McCurdy, and one sister, Erin Quatrale, all of Las Vegas; and one brother, Todd McCurdy of Orlando, Fla.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
Jose G. Tajalle Sr.
Jose G. Tajalle Sr., 69, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born July 15, 1929, in Guam. A resident for six months, he was a retired from the Marine Corps after 26 years and was a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by five sons, Joe Tajalle, George G. Tajalle, Eddie G. Tajalle, Benjamin V. Tajalle and Johnny F. Tajalle; two daughters, Jeannie Tajalle and Jouliette Tajalle; five brothers, Nestor Tajalle, Justo C. Tajalle Jr., Francisco Tajalle, Pedro Tajalle and Rufo Tajalle; and one sister, Maria Tajalle Priest.
Visitation will continue until a 6 p.m. service today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
