Guinn names Ernaut chief of staff

Ernaut, 34, a Reno advertising executive, is currently heading Guinn's transition team.

An Elko native, Ernaut was elected to the Nevada Assembly in 1992. He served as Republican floor leader during the 1995 session and was assistant minority leader in 1997.

He did not seek re-election this year, opting instead to devote more time to his business and to manage Guinn's gubernatorial campaign.

"I am very confident in Pete's abilities," Guinn said in a written statement. "He has legislative experience, a background in public policy and strong management skills which he developed in the private sector.

"Pete works very hard and I look for him to be an outstanding chief of staff," Guinn said.
