Helen M. Coates, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 21, 1915, in Baltimore. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired registered nurse and served in the World War II Army Nurse Corps for three years in the Pacific.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert L.; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Coates of Orange, Calif., and Helen M. Hawthorne of Costa Mesa, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Monday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.
Gladys P. Gunter
Gladys P. Gunter, 79, of Pahrump died Wednesday in a local health care center. She was born Dec. 8, 1918, in Frostburg, Md. A resident for five years, she was a teacher's aide for 15 years and a member of the Young Republicans.
She is survived by one son, Ronald Lee Tewell, and one daughter, Sue E. Tewell, both of Pahrump; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.
Terry Jones Sr.
Terry Jones Sr., 33, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A food server, he was born Feb. 1, 1965, in Arizona.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea; one son, Terry Jones Jr.; one daughter, Franchesca Jones; his mother, Verna Mae Greathouse; his father, George Jones; one sister, Sheila Greathouse; one brother, Therman White; his mother-in-law, Sheila Wilson Washington; two aunts, Mildred Greathouse and Louise Williams; and his grandmother, Ruby Greathouse.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Tolmena DePasqua Lemley
Tolmena DePasqua Lemley, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 13, 1915, in Chieti, Italy. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker and a published poet.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Kerchival Lemley; two sons, Robert Tyrone Lemley and Alan Craig Lemley, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Filomena Tartaglione of Monroeville, Pa.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Nancy Ann Pickard
Nancy Ann Pickard, 59, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 5, 1939, in Heuvelton, N.Y. A resident for 30 years, she was a candy shop clerk.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon; four daughters, Donna Sparks, Tammy Groom and Stephanie Macias, all of Las Vegas, and Cindy Love of Seattle; four sons, Buddy Pickard of Corvallis, Ore., and Richie Schultz, Robert Schultz and Duane Pickard, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Dorothy Beams of Las Vegas; one sister, Luanne Brown; two brothers, Clint Beams of Las Vegas and Ronald Beams of La Crescenta, Calif.; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
James Denis Roche
James Denis Roche, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 8, 1910, in North Andover, Mass. A resident for three years, he was a medical transcriber and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Maryclare; one son, Richard Wilder of Hollywood, Calif.; two daughters, Aprile Millo and Grace Patricia Millo, both of New York City; three sisters, Elinor Montgomery and Rita Sullivan, both of North Andover, and Mary Neville of Andover; and two brothers, Phillip Roche and John Roche, both of North Andover.
No local services are scheduled. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
