LV Bankruptcies

The Chinois Las Vegas restaurant said it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after a contractor declared bankruptcy, leaving Chinois responsible for more than $1 million of unpaid and unanticipated obligations to shareholders. Chinois opened in January at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. It is the third Las Vegas restaurant opened in Las Vegas by restaurateurs Wolfgang Puck and Barbara Lazaroff. Chinois said the bankruptcy filing will have minimal effect on the restaurant -- no employees will be terminated and the menu won't change.
Russell Shellman, doing business as Pro Image Stores, doing business as Rujac Inc., 92 Ancient Hills Ln., Henderson, and Jackie Shellman, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, listing assets of $234,788 and liabilities of $600,358.
Robert Pegram, formerly doing business as R.T. Trucking, 6844 Elm Creek Dr., # 103, Las Vegas, and Thelma Pegram, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, listing assets of $101,305 and liabilities of $165,220.
Thomas Fitzsimmons, doing business as Sunrise Cedar Bar and Grill, doing business as VIP Laundromat and Mini Post Office, 1650 Ringe Ln., Las Vegas, filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Assets and liabilities were not listed.
Charles H. Haid Jr., doing business as Froggy's Landscape Management, P.O. Box 33026, Laughlin, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, listing assets of $6,025 and liabilities of $27,144.
Denise Majdanski, formerly doing business as NFMC-National Financial Management Corp., 3806 Higley St., Las Vegas, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Assets and liabilities were not listed.
Rene R. Estrada, doing business as Trio Mariachi Azteca Show, 3151 Panocha St., Las Vegas, and Irene Estrada, filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, listing assets of $13,450 and liabilities of $50,765.
