Full House said it hasn't decided whether it will build the project on land it owns next to Mirage Resorts Inc.'s new Beau Rivage resort in Biloxi. The Mirage hotel-casino is scheduled to open next spring.
"The difficulties we've encountered in putting together the available parcels at our Biloxi site, along with the sheer scope of the Hard Rock Project, may preclude us from building the Hard Rock at that site," Full House President Gregg Giuffria said.
"But our agreements with Hard Rock give us five years to agree with them upon an appropriate site, and we've been exploring other exciting possibilities."
The project would be developed and operated by Full House and Hard Rock. Hard Rock would own and manage a retail store and Hard Rock Cafe at the site.
The project is contingent upon Hard Rock's approval of the chosen site, financing structure and other details.
Full House said the subsidiary, Full House Mississippi LLC, is owned jointly by the company and its principal shareholder, Allen Paulson. Full House has joint-venture casino developments in Oregon and Delaware with Dreamport Inc., a unit of GTECH Corp., and management contracts with Indian tribes in Michigan and California.
