Ruth Alpert, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born June 28, 1915, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; one daughter, Joan Orlowsky of Orlando, Fla.; one son, Neil Alpert of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Virginia L. Burke
Virginia L. Burke, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 30, 1928, in Michigan. A resident for 15 years, she was a dispatcher for the telephone company.
She is survived by one son, Mark Avichoser of Irvine, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Earslean Cooper
Earslean Cooper, 61, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born April 6, 1937, in Carthage, Ark. A resident for 30 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.
She is survived by four daughters, Cynthia Hawkins, Terri Hawkins, Althea Hawkins and Tracy Cooper, and two sisters, Frances Lea and Verlene Taylor, all of Las Vegas; six brothers, Monroe Lea of Las Vegas, Jessie Lea of Chicago, Harold Lea of Los Angeles, Freddie Jacobs of Little Rock, Ark., and James Lea and Robert Lea, both of Carthage; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Tuesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be noon Wednesday in Goodwill Church of God in Christ, 976 Hassell Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Andrew Fedo Sr.
Andrew Fedo Sr., 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 22, 1930, in New Jersey. A resident for six years, he was a Navy veteran.
He is survived by one son, Andrew Fedo Jr. of Hammonton, N.J.

Roberto Santa Maria Garcia
Roberto Santa Maria Garcia, 58, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 28, 1940, in Manila, Philippines. A resident for 26 years, he was a dealer, a Vietnam War Navy veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by one son, Roberto Garcia Jr. of Denver; three daughters, Aleta Garcia and Sanya Garcia, both of Denver, and Catherine Garcia of Sedalia, Mo.; his mother, Marina Garcia of Las Vegas; five sisters, Emily Rose Garcia of Las Vegas, Violeta De Los Santos and Susan Santos, both of Los Angeles, Aida Leonard of Dallas and Elizabeth Garcia of the Philippines; and three brothers, Ernie Garcia of the Philippines and Salvador Garcia and Eduardo Garcia, both of Los Angeles.
Visitation will continue until -7 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 3 p.m. services Tuesday in the LDS Robindale ward. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Charles Gibson
Charles Gibson, 82, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 15, 1916, in New Albany, Ind. A resident for nine years, he was a retired oil company executive chef and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by one son, Ronald Gibson of Las Vegas; one daughter, Charmaine Jones, and one sister, Mae Carr, both of Los Angeles; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. services Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Betty Lee Gilbert
Betty Lee Gilbert, 76, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. She was born April 8, 1922, in Alamosa, Colo. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 1103.
She is survived by one son, Tim Gilbert Jr., two daughters, Sharon Gilbert and Susan Norton, and one brother, Don McCormick, all of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Abraham Bernard Harris
Abraham Bernard Harris of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., died recently. A former Las Vegas resident for 10 years, he was a World War II and Korean War veteran, a member of City of Hope and Jewish War Veterans of USA Post 070.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Florence; four sons, Jay, Lloyd, Harvey and Perry; one daughter, Cheri; and 11 grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled at 11:30 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
The family suggests donations to the City of Hope, 701 Lee St., Suite 20, Des Plaines, IL 60616.
Helen Mariner King
Helen Mariner King, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 2, 1940, in Washington, D.C. A resident for 19 years, she was a cashier at the Sahara hotel-casino.
She is survived by one brother, Robert Niblo Caldwell of Zanesville, Ohio.

Sandra Rochelle Lawson
Sandra Rochelle Lawson, 56, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born May 10, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Penni M. Egger of Kula, Hawaii; one son, Richard Todd Lawson of Kihei, Hawaii; her parents, Ben and Eva Zollotuchen, and one brother, Arlen Zollutuchen, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Sharon Levey of California; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
David Melville Livermore
David Melville Livermore, 59, of Beatty died Nov. 16 in a local hospital. He was born July 22, 1939, in Michigan. A resident for 15 years, he was a cook.
He is survived by his wife, Judy.

Charles Mann
Charles Mann, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Ryegate, Mont. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired freight company truck driver, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Teamsters Union 631.
He is survived by one son, Larry Mann, and one daughter, Connie Bruggeman, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Margaret Schroeder of Faulkton, S.D.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 6 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Main.
William Earl Montgomery
William Earl Montgomery, 57, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born July 26, 1941, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a keno shift boss for 35 years, an employee at Silver State Recycles and a Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Karen L.; one son, Todd E. Montgomery, and one daughter, Tori L. Tucker, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.
George Padilla
George Padilla, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A resident for 26 years, he was born May 29, 1926, in Clayton, N.M.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy; three daughters, Clarice Moffett of Las Vegas, Anita Drannon of Marshall, Texas, and Cathleen Jacobus of Chattanooga, Texas; one brother, Victor Padilla of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Rosalie Martinez of Texline, Texas; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Joanne E. Spurk, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday. She was born Aug. 5, 1929, in Spokane, Wash. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, John; one son, Michael Crooks, and three daughters, Kathy Vinzant, Susan Harris and Julie Spalding, all of Las Vegas; five brothers, Richard Powers, Jack Powers, Bob Powers and James Powers, all of Spokane, and Dan Powers of Walla Walla, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Harold 'Gene' Stingley
Harold "Gene" Stingley, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born Jan. 19, 1924, in Bradford, Ill. A resident for eight years, he was a retired pump mechanic, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; four sons, Craig Stingley of Perris, Calif., Scott Stingley of Irvine, Calif., Jack Sweeney of Orange, Calif., and James Sweeney of Mission Viejo, Calif.; two daughters, Cheryl McCorkle of Buena Park, Calif., and Janette Zabilski of Tustin, Calif.; two brothers, Woody Stingley of San Clemente, Calif., and Ivan Stingley of Irvine; one sister, Flora Holm of Santa Ana, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Odyssey Health Care Chapel, 4011 McLeod Drive. No other services are scheduled locally. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Pedro Juan Quiles Zayas
Pedro Juan Quiles Zayas, 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 29, 1922, in Puerto Rico. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired jeweler and active in the Senior Citizens Center.
He is survived by two sons, Harry Zayas of Las Vegas and Peter Zayas of Los Angeles; one daughter, Elizabeth Moline of Livermore, Calif.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
