Letter: Schools are fine — it’s the students

You see them everyday in their baggy pants with the crotch hanging down to their knees, T-shirts four sizes too large, shaved heads, earrings and a cigarette dangling from their mouths. These are the troublemakers.
They have no pride in their appearance, no respect for themselves, their teachers or anyone else. It's hard for me to believe that parents let their children dress this way. They should not be allowed in school, which would make room for the good students who want to learn. All of our schools should have a uniform dress code.
It's a disgrace for this country that we have to use security guards and police in our schools, when this money could go for education and better pay for our teachers. They say that the future of our country is in the hands of today's youth -- if it's in the hands of this type of youth the country will be in big trouble.
