All but the first floor of the new $25 million hotel will open Tuesday night at the Verdi resort along Interstate 80.
The project is the latest step in owners' plans to turn Boomtown into a major destination resort.
Future expansion plans call for the construction of a 2,000-room hotel tower, golf course, theme park and six-story parking garage.
Local residents have opposed the $500 million project, saying it will ruin the rural character of the community.
Boomtown started as a mom-and-pop cafe at the same site 34 years ago.
