Lady Rebels win again

Led by freshman forward Linda Froehlich's game-highs of 25 points and 12 rebounds, the UNLV Lady Rebels defeated Texas-San Antonio 65-60 in Wednesday night in Texas.
UNLV used a 13-0 run over 5:22, which was highlighted by senior guard Kristen Pool and freshman guard Erin Johannson's 3-pointers, to take a 54-50 lead with 4:54 to play in the game. UTSA cut the score to 63-60 with 9.4 seconds remaining but Froehlich put the game away with two free throws.
In the first half, UNLV trailed 16-13 as UTSA went on an 11-0 run over 3:53 to take an eight-point lead and a 34-28 halftime advantage. UTSA led by as many as 10 points in the first half and nine points with 10:19 left in the second half.
UNLV (2-0) was assisted in the win by Pool's 10 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Senior forward Angalete Dye also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Rebels are 2-0 for the first time since the 1992-93 season, when they started the year with two wins before losing in their third contest.
The Lady Rebels' next contest is scheduled on Nov. 28 as they face Delaware at in the Golden Gopher Classic in Minneapolis.
UNLV will open its home schedule on Dec. 4 against Belmont in the Four Queens Shootout.
