Krys Bart, 51, is the assistant director of aviation at San Jose International Airport in San Jose, Calif.
She received the unanimous endorsement for the new job Monday from the Washoe County authority's executive search committee.
Airport trustees will vote on the recommendation on Thursday in Reno.
Bart was picked over Michael Cheston, general manager of aviation operations at Portland International Airport in Portland, Ore.
