Letter: Adelson’s point was to fight unions

Monday, Nov. 9, 1998 | 9:16 a.m.

From the beginning, Sheldon Adelson has fought to allow his properties to be nonunion. In a right-to-work state, this should be his prerogative. He apparently has the impression that Kenny and Williams have delayed his efforts in building his property at the behest of the unions and that Herrera will join them in their efforts.

His ads have been clearly in bad taste, taking items out of context to create an improper image. But I believe his agenda was, is, and always will be to fight the unions and politicians he believes are controlled by them.

Don't be surprised if the D Gate concession fiasco comes back to haunt us. The commissioners he is against didn't push for a rebidding of the concession contracts, giving him yet another last-ditch effort to attack his opponents.
