Two arrested in beating death of Carlin man

Authorities believe robbery was the motive in the beating death of Donald Wayne Brown, 42.
Brown's body was found in a trash bin behind the Miner's Camp Bar around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Police Lt. Roy Ladd said.
Witnesses at the bar reported seeing two men go outside about a half hour earlier, Ladd said.
An investigation by Elko Police and the Elko County Sheriff's Office led to the arrests later that day of Kelly Rhyne and James Mendenall.
Rhyne and Mendenall, both 39, each were charged with open murder.
Police said evidence at the scene and at one suspect's home indicate Brown was badly beaten before his body was left in the trash bin.
