KANSAS CITY--Jason Cirone scored for the sixth time in three games as the Kansas City Blades (4-7-0) defeated the Las Vegas Thunder (2-6-1) 4-1 Saturday in front of 3,485 at Kemper Arena. Cirone's hot streak has helped boost the Blades to their longest winning streak of the season, at three games. The Blades led from the fifth minute of the game, after Brendan Yarema scored his first goal of the season. Petr Nedved equalized for the Thunder at 12:21, but defenseman Mark Welsing's goal at 14:03 gave Kansas City the lead for good. Las Vegas goalie Konstantin Simchuk fended off 12 shots to keep the game close through the second period, but gave up an insurance tally to Eric Perrin midway through the third. Cirone closed out the scoring with an empty-netter with 28 seconds remaining. Blades goalie Patrick Lalime stopped 23 of 24 shots, including 10 in the first period, to earn both the win and Star of the Game honors. Simchuk finished with 33 saves as Kansas City took 36 shots.
