STAIRWAY TO THE STARS -- Si Zentner and his orchestra cut loose with the Lamont Patterson Big Band Memorial Dance at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Charleston Heights Arts Center ballroom, 800 S. Brush St. Admission is free, however, tickets are required. Call 229-6383.

ANDRIENNE AT THE AMPHITHEATER -- The Andrienne Wilson Quartet performs at Jazz in the Park at 8 p.m. Saturday in the amphitheater at Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. The quartet features pianist Mulgrew Miller, with Victor Jones on drums and Richie Goods on bass. Wilson has been praised for her compositions, her "husky contralto" voice and her "dancing flute lines." Admission is free.

BARBERSHOP RADIO -- The Gamble-Aires Barbershop Chorus take four-part harmony to the mythical radio station KORD, with pop songs of of the '30s and '40s, famous advertising jingles and a tongue-in-cheek soap opera in "Remembering Radio" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday, at CCSN's Nicholas Horn Theater, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Joining for the show will be barbershop quartets Special Feature, Sound Expression, Tumbleweeds, Desert Sons, Music To Go, Harmony Buffet and Hooked on Harmony. Tickets at the door are $9 for adults, $5 for children under 16.

THE 'B' LIST -- We all know of Bach, Beethoven and Brahms. Let the Las Vegas Master Singers introduce you to the other Bs -- Barber, Beach, Billings, Bruckner, Burleigh and Berlin, at their 4 p.m. concert Sunday, at Christ Church Episcopal, 200 Maryland Parkway. The concert features not only choral arrangements, but Master singers as soloists and in small ensembles. Admission at the door is $7 for adults, $5 for students and seniors and children under 12 are free.

Theater

A BIT OF BLISS -- The theatrical Bliss family are Noel Coward's subject in "Hay Fever," the final production of Las Vegas Little Theater's season. Enjoy the eccentricities of the clan at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday, at 3844 Schiff Drive. Tickets at the box office are $12.50, $11.50 for students and seniors. ALL ABOARD! -- The Great American Train Show is steaming into Cashman Field Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North, this weekend with more than 10,000 trains and 15 model railroad layouts. A special train, with dozens of operating accessories, will also be set up for children to have a hands-on experience at the show. The "roundhouse" is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $5, and children under 12 are free. Bring a food donation for the Salvation Army and take $1 off your ticket price.

DAY WITH THE EXPERTS -- The greenest thumbs in Nevada are gathering at Ethel M's Botanical Cactus Garden Saturday, from 1-4 p.m., with advice on what grows in Southern Nevada -- and how to grow it. Horticulturist Linn Mills, Arboretum direcor Dennis Swartzell, Cactus and Succulents Society member Steve Plath and volunteers from the Cooperative Extension Master Gardner Program will discuss plant care, desert landscaping, garden setup, proper watering and garden troubleshooting. In addition, visitors can enjoy all 350 species of plants Ethel M has collected over the years. Admission is free. Ethel M's garden is located at 2 Cactus Garden Drive, at the corner of Sunset Road and Mountain Vista Street, in Henderson.
