Just over a week after declaring her candidacy for Governor of Nevada, Las Vegas Mayor Jan Laverty Jones has hired the media firm Greer, Margolis, Mitchell, Burns & Associates as her campaign's media consultant.
The firm served as media consultant for the Bill Clinton-Al Gore campaign that defeated incumbent George Bush in 1992 for President of the United States.
Kenny Guinn, the lead Republican candidate in the race, has hired Sig Rogich as a campaign consultant. Rogich worked for Bush in the 1992 campaign.
Jones' firm also has worked for other governors including: Gaston Caperton in West Virginia, Lawton Chiles in Florida, Howard Dean in Vermont, Parris Glendening of Maryland, Jim Hunt of North Carolina, Bereton Jones of Kentucky, Frank O'Bannon of Indiana and Doug Wilder of Virginia.
The firm also has served for many labor unions, including the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees and Service Employees International.
