Police were releasing few details of Monday evening's shootings at the Regency Apartments on West Second Street.
The three suspects were arrested near Gold Run in California, 35 miles east of Reno, after the Placer County sheriff's office and the California Highway Patrol put highway spikes across Interstate-80.
Reno police said the dead man was shot in the head, the woman was hit in the chest and the man in the abdomen and head.
Neighbor Jan Hoover told the Reno Gazette-Journal she was not surprised when the gunfire broke out across the street from where she lives.
"They're always having problems there," she said. "At least once or twice a week, the ambulance, fire or police department is there."
