The UNLV track and field team will be at the Western Athletic Conference Championship starting today at Rice University in Houston. Preliminaries for the majority of the track and field events take place today, with the finals being held Saturday. Two Rebels have already made provisional cuts for the NCAA Outdoor Championships and will look to earn an automatic trip to Buffalo on June 3-6. All-American Hydianne Harper, the Rebels' leading sprinter and Jessica Marable, the Rebels' top hurler, will highlight the meet for UNLV. Harper is a provisional qualifier in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.49, which is second best in the conference. She is just off a provisional time (11.55) in the 100-meter dash. Her best time came at the Long Beach Invitational where she ran a time of 11.58 on April 18. Ayana Hutchinson is also on the brink of soft cuts for nationals with her time of 11.63 in the 100 and 23.75 in the 200.
