Letter: ‘Seinfeld’ not so funny to cartoonist

I mention this because I have a very good sense of humor. It really doesn't take much to make me laugh.
Off and on for nine years, I've tried to watch and enjoy "Seinfeld." I've had a few chuckles, but mostly sat dumbfounded that these four surly, nasty, unlikable characters made it the No. 1 sitcom.
I've laughed my head off at "Lucy," "The Honeymooners," "MASH," "Cheers," "Sanford & Son" and "Wings," to name a few. As an old teacher of mine told me when I asked about writing sitcoms, "The No. 1 thing to remember is most sitcoms are written to a 14-year-old brain."
I'd say with "Seinfeld," it was written to a 12-year-old brain.
