737 inspections have little impact on McCarran

Monday, May 11, 1998 | 8:13 a.m.

McCarran spokeswoman Debbie Millet said she is not aware of any delays at the airport, calling operations "business as usual."

McCarran handles about 230 737s a day and less than 10 percent of those are affected, she said, with passengers not expected to notice any change in air travel.

Southwest Airlines, one of Las Vegas' largest carriers, said it was able to conduct all of its inspections Saturday night and Sunday, with only one cancellation and three flight delays.

The inspection of older model 737s is designed to check wiring running through wing fuel tanks.
