'DIVA DUO' -- Soprano Madelene Capelle and mezzo Lizabeth Knight will give their audience a humorous look at how operatic heroines' characters have been exploited in tonight's 7:30 concert at Winchester Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. The ladies will be accompanied by pianist Peter Bugel, and the concert host is Jack Guinn. Tickets are $10, $8 for seniors and $5 for those under 18 at the door.

EVEN JAYCEES GET THE BLUES -- The Las Vegas Jaycees are hosting a free Blues Jamboree, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday, at Lorenzi Park. Performing will be Moanin' Black Snakes, Blue Cherry and Friends, Ruffnecks, Jimmy Lee Smith Band, John Earl and the Boogieman Band and the Shuffle-Aires. There will be food and drink concessions at the park, however, no coolers or food may be brought in. Leave Rover at home, too.

SERENADE FOR MOM -- The Walter Boenig Big Band plays the music of the big band era, beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. And, what's more, Mom will be presented with a carnation! Admission is free, however, tickets are required to guarantee seating. Call 229-6211 for more information.

FESTIVAL FINALE -- Faculty-member pianists Tom Ferguson, Damaris Alvarez, Victor Hugo Alvarez and Cynthia Harris will wind up CCSN's Piano Festival at 2 p.m. Sunday in Nicholas Horn Theater, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Also on the program is chamber jazz with Cher Chez. Tickets are $8, $5 for students and seniors. For reservations, call 651-5483.

DANCE HAPPENING -- A psychedelic swirl of dance comprises CCSN's Spring Dance concert, performed at 7:30 tonight and Saturday at Nicholas Horn Theater, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Natalia Chapourskaya and Richard Bradley will be featured in exerpts from "Giselle" and the world premiere of "Immigrations;" Leslie Creamer Roth will present her "Monk by Twos," with music by Thelonius Monk; dance video and transparencies illuminate Kelly Roth's "Windows on Watts Street," and all "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Iron Butterfly classic. Tickets are $8, $5 for students and seniors. Call 651-5483 for reservations.

DIMENSIONS DANCE THEATER -- The company's repertoire of modern, jazz and traditional African dance make for a lively Saturday evening, starting at 8 p.m., at the Sammy Davis Jr. Plaza in Lorenzi Park. The company has performed internationally the works of such choreographers as Donald McKayle, Garth Fagan, Assane Konte, Zak Diouf, Thamsanqa Hiatywayo and Dingani Lelokoane. Tickets are $12, $10 for students, seniors and the disabled.

ARTFEST OF HENDERSON -- Take a drive south on U.S. 95 this weekend and enjoy Henderson's first-ever fine arts fair, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on Water Street, and at City Hall and Convention Center Plaza. More than 150 artists will be featured, and live entertainment will fill three stages with rock, jazz, blues, folk and reggae. In addition, Kids' Gallery will feature interactive activities, arts and crafts and special entertainment geared just to them. Admission is free.
