Slot parlor in Silver City Mall hit

The burglars broke open four locked doors and cut phone lines Wednesday night or early Thursday to dismantle an alarm system and sever phone service to nearby businesses until Thursday afternoon.
"It's someone who knows the phone lines carry all the alarms," said Detective Rick Dodds.
The Silver City Mall slot parlor holds money for at least two of the parent company's other Carson City parlors, authorities said.
"It's like they knew that it supplies all the rest of the little places or maybe it surprised them. We don't know," Dodds said.
They pilfered coins and currency from the Palladium slot parlor, which has about 30 slot machines, by entering the mall through a ceiling door above a neighboring television store, authorities said.
The burglars cut through two security gates and broke into two Palladium $1 slot machines, a safe and the back room. A side door to the mall was also found to be jammed when an employee tried to enter for work Thursday morning.
