Donald F. Belding, 83, of Boulder City died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1914, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 67 years, he moved to Boulder City in 1931 to help build the dam, owned and operated a service station in Boulder City from 1935-1945, owned and operated Boulder Laundry and Cleaners from 1946-1962, opened and operated the Gold Strike Inn & Casino in 1958 and managed it until his retirement in 1977.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, David R. Belding and Richard F. Belding, both of Boulder City; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Boulder City. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

LILLIAN BELLER

Lillian Beller, 88, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 25, 1909, in Russia. A resident for many years, she was a real estate broker.

She is survived by one son, Neil Beller of Las Vegas.

Burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

JOHN H. BINNS

John H. Binns, 85, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. He was born April 27, 1913, in Moorpark, Calif. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired owner-operator of an automotive parts business.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; one daughter, Pat Binns of LaCrescenta, Calif.; one son, James Binns of Cheshire, Conn.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Grace Community Church, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

TRULA B. BOLEN

Trula B. Bolen, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 31, 1916, in Blackburg, Va. A resident for 21 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by five daughters, Jacqueline Uhler of Florida, Barbara Eller of South Boston, Va., Sandra Southall of Jethersville, Va., and Trula Christian and Patricia Crawley, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Carl Bradford of Salem, Va.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in the First Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. A private burial will follow. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

DIANA JOANN COX-THOMPSON

Diana Joann Cox-Thompson, 30, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 17, 1967, in California. A resident for 12 years, she was a keno runner.

She is survived by two sons, Greg J. Thompson and Taylor G. Thompson; three brothers, Bobby Cox, Michael Cox and Jimmy Cox, all of Utah; and three sisters, Liane Trevino of Oregon, Marina Cox of California, and Christel Cox of Arizona.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

ETHEL DELORES DELLOSTRITTO

Ethel Delores Dellostritto, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A resident for 19 years, she was born Dec. 27, 1930, in Auburn, N.Y.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph P.; four sons, Michael Dellostritto of Auburn, Richard Dellostritto of New Orleans, Stephen Dellostritto of Las Vegas and James Dellostritto of Vancouver, British Columbia; two daughters, Shari Kovalczik of Auburn and Diane Norton of Las Vegas; one stepson, John Dellostritto of Auburn; two stepdaughters, Rita Dellostritto of Houston and Anita Dellostritto of Auburn; her mother, Fannie Guido of Auburn; four brothers, Ralph Guido and Robert Guido, both of Auburn, Joe Guido of California and Kenneth Guido; two sisters, Joyce Moore of Auburn and Mary Capotto of Miami; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday in St. Anne Catholic Church. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

LINDA FALLON

Linda Fallon, 49, of Henderson died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 1, 1949, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 10 years, she was an employee at Northwest Airlines for 30 years and a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local Lodge 845.

She is survived by her husband, Charles David; her parents, Jeanette and Malcom Turnbull of Fontana, Calif.; three brothers, Dan Turnbull of Montana and Dennis Turnbull and Michael Turnbull, both of Fontana; and one sister, Dolly Moore of Apple Valley, Calif.

MARCIA FAITH HILLEN

Marcia Faith Hillen, 52, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born March 18, 1946, in Santa Ana, Calif. A resident for 34 years, she was retired from the real estate business.

She is survived by her husband, James A.; three daughters, Margaret L. Miltier, Melanie L. Hillen and Jennifer M. Hillen, and her mother, LaVera A. Sitton, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Paul E. Sitton Jr. of Henderson; and four grandchildren.

PHYLLIS ANN 'PAT' DANIELS HOFFMAN

Phyllis Ann "Pat" Daniels Hoffman, 68, of Palm Desert, Calif., died Wednesday in Palm Desert. She was born Dec. 5, 1929, in New York City. A former Las Vegas resident for 12 years until 1990, she was employed by the Rancho Las Palmas Tennis Club, where she was its associate of the year. She worked in the advertising and fashion industries and attended the University of Southern California.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Jimmy Overholt; two daughters, Patricia Ann Paxton of Phoenix and Jill Hoffman Tiernan of Dallas; one brother, Robert Grossman of Boulder, Colo.

No local services are scheduled.

TERRY DEAN HOPPE

Terry Dean Hoppe, 37, of Las Vegas died April 21 in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 28, 1960, in Santa Ana, Calif. A resident for 11 years, he was a construction laborer.

He is survived by his parents, Dora and Nelson Wilbert Hoppe, and one brother, Dennis Hoppe, all of Indio, Calif.; and two sisters, Rhonda Jean Marez of Cathedral City, Calif., and Diana Linn Ruger of Hemet, Calif.

SOON HACK HWANG

Soon Hack Hwang, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 10, 1926, in Seoul, Korea. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired hotel porter.

He is survived by his wife, Hye Ja.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

WILLIAM LEWIS IRETE JR.

William Lewis Irete Jr., 62, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 2, 1935, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 39 years, he was a courier for a law firm, a member of the Moose Lodge, NASCAR and the Italian American Club.

He is survived by his wife, Judith M.; two sons, William Lewis Irete III and Christopher Lewis Irete; two daughters, Sharlene Irete and Annette Leeming; one brother, Lewis David Irete; and seven grandchildren.

SEYMOUR KAMAN

Seymour Kaman, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 19, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 2 1/2 years, he owned a printing shop.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; one son, Jeffrey Kaman of Denver; two sisters, Trudie Boyd of Murietta, Calif., and Lillian Rostoker of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and two granddaughters.

Graveside services were scheduled at 12:30 p.m. today in Memory Gardens. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

FREDRICK MCCOULLOUGH LEE

Fredrick McCoullough Lee, 52, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 25, 1945, in Silo, Okla. A resident for 13 years, he was a security officer at the Sahara hotel-casino.

He is survived by his wife, Kwang Cha; and two sons, Bryon Lee and Chipper Lee, both of Florida.

WILLIAM H. MCFARLAND

William H. McFarland, 72, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 27, 1925, in Oklahoma. A resident for 20 years, he was an automotive mechanic and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen; one son, Duayne; two daughters, Selena and Sabrina; two brothers, George McFarland and Duayne McFarland; and five grandchildren.

ROBIN MERKET

Robin Merket, 41, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 29, 1957, in Los Angeles. A resident for 40 years, he was a hotel porter.

He is survived by his parents, Melvin and Virginia Merket of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Mike Merket of Vernal, Utah, and Steve Merket and Jeff Merket, both of Las Vegas.

BILLY A. 'SAM' MORLAN

Billy A. "Sam" Morlan, 59, of Henderson died Monday in Elko. He was born June 23, 1938, in Walnut, Neb. A resident for six years, he was a laborer in the construction industry and a member of Operating Engineers Local 3.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Robin Van Meetren of Henderson and Rhonda Albright of Las Vegas; six brothers; three sisters; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be private.

ELIZABETH JEAN NOVOTNY

Elizabeth Jean Novotny, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 1, 1937, in Cleveland. A resident for many years, she was a bookkeeper for a law firm.

She is survived by one sister, Joan Tishchler of Brook Park, Ohio.

EARL ROSE

Earl Rose, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 5, 1914, in Tampa, Fla. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired electrician, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge Daylite 44, Zelzah Shrine Temple and Scottish Rite Bodies.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Winter and Delores Abromovitz, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Edna Leonard of Shingle Springs, Calif., Lillian Tepstein of Van Nuys, Calif., and Lucille Johnson of Seattle; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Linda Sanchez, 40, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born June 4, 1957, in Las Vegas. A resident for 40 years, she was a nurse's aide.

She is survived by her companion, Frank Rhinehart, one son, Frankie Sanchez, two daughters, Stephanie Rivera and Geri-T Rivera, and one sister, Judy Maloncon, all of Las Vegas; eight brothers, Dave Rivera, Ricky Rivera, John Rivera and Mario Rodela, all of Las Vegas, Pete Rivera, Gary Rivera and Henry Rivera, all of Atlanta, and Steve Montoya of California; and one grandchild.

Trevor Charles Smetham, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born June 2, 1928, in England. A resident for four years, he was a cement worker.

Raymond Gerald Smith Sr., 53, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 15, 1944, in Michigan. A resident for 17 years, he was an automotive salesman and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his parents, William and Shirley; one son, Raymond G. Smith Jr.; and two brothers, Roger Lester Smith and Brian Keith Smith.

Carol K. Steele, 59, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1938, in North Bend, Ore. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired professional ballet dancer and owner-operator of Las Vegas Ballet Arts.

She is survived by her husband, Ormond; two daughters, Jennifer Gosse and Valerie Diesko, both of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Deanna Lynn Trower, 29, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 21, 1969, at Beale Air Force Base, Calif. A resident for 12 years, she was a clerk in a CPA's office.

She is survived by her parents, Jeanette and Edward F. Meath of Yuba City, Calif.; one brother, Douglas K. Trower of Marysville, Calif.; one sister, Michele A. Trower of Las Vegas; and her grandparents, Betty and Wesley N. Lewis of Oklahoma and Helen Trower of North Fork, Calif.

Lawrence Williams, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 11, 1912, in California. A resident for two years, he was an aircraft engineer and a member of the Sigma Phi Fraternity at the University of Southern California.

He is survived by one son, Don Williams; two daughters, Barbara Patton of Ohio and Lynn Allen of California; two brothers, Bill Williams and Lloyd Williams, both of California; and six grandchildren.

Vivian G. Wilson, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born July 11, 1918, in Cedar Rapids, Neb. A resident 45 years, she was a beautician and homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde; one son, Ken Wilson of Las Vegas; one sister, Helen Mehring of Grand Island, Neb.; and one brother, Jack Morris of Denver.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Ina G. Wood, 72, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born March 14, 1926, in Beaver, Utah. A resident for 45 years, she was a retired federal government supervisor, a member of the American Ex-POWs Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Rebekahs and NARFE.

She is survived by her companion, Janice O'Dell of Henderson; two sons, Martin Karl Wood of Las Cruces, N.M., and Micheal David Wood of Poulsbo, Wash.; one daughter, Laura Irene Brockman of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Gladys Ross of Richfield, Utah, and Imelda Banks of Minersville, Utah; and 16 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 4 p.m. services Saturday in the Cholla Street LDS Relief Society Room.
