-- Estimates he has called more than 1,700 basketball, 450 football and 300 baseball games.
-- Revitalized the Oakland Raiders radio network in 1961. Was one of only three Raiders employees retained when Al Davis bought the team in 1963.
-- Created the San Diego Chargers radio network in 1967.
-- Helped future NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle land his first NFL job.
-- Helped orchestrate UCLA's hiring of legendary basketball coach John Wooden.
-- Worked radio broadcast of 1960 Winter Olympics.
-- Served on 1972 U.S. Olympic Committee.
-- Served on 1976 San Francisco Bay Area Olympic Committee (Montreal was awarded the Games).
-- Helped organize Mercy Bowl I, a game between Fresno State and Bowling Green in 1961 that raised $300,000 for the survivors of the Cal Poly team plane crash.
-- Called two NFL Pro Bowl games in the 1950s.
-- Received the Lifetime Leadership Award from Sport magazine.
-- Will be inducted into the American Football Foundation Hall of Fame in June.
