UNLV women's basketball coach Regina Miller announced Thursday that Linda Frohlich has signed a national letter of intent to attend UNLV beginning in fall 1998. Frohlich, a 6-3 guard/forward from Oldendorf, Germany, is Miller's first signee at UNLV.
Frohlich, who played for the German National team for three years, led it in scoring and made the European Championships All-Star team. She also was named the MVP of the challenge round of the European Championships. Prior to playing on the national team, she was a member of the German junior national team for two years.
Frohlich, who currently plays for S.C. Rist Wedel, a German club team, is averaging 28 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals and scored a career high 43 points in a game this season. She chose UNLV over Western Athletic champion New Mexico, Michigan and Washington State.
