Gaming Board allows city to share gambling proceeds

The Nevada Gaming Control Board on Thursday approved an application by United Coin Machine Co. to operate 15 slot machines at the Downtown Transportation Center. A City of Las Vegas application to continue sharing in the proceeds of the slots -- estimated at $100,000 per year for the city -- was also approved.
Mayor Jan Jones is working to limit the expansion of slots in the city's neighborhoods, but officials in her office say there is no connection with that issue and the city collecting gambling profits from the Transportation Center. They note the Transportation Center is in an established gaming district.
The state Gaming Board also approved restricted gaming licenses for:
--D And G Enterprises, a partnership between Drew Patrick McConaughy and Gregory Scott McConaughy that does business as Shooters Sports Bar & Cafe on South Decatur Blvd.
--Rick's Inc., doing business as Sammie's Too, on S. Fort Apache, owned by Richard W. and Sue A. Pearlman.
