Police say suspect’s paycheck stub found at rape scene

Wednesday, May 6, 1998 | 1:27 a.m.

Edward Clinton Bakken is charged with sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, kidnaping, burglary and battery.

Police say he attacked an unarmed 20-year-old security guard Saturday as she was patrolling a business complex on the city's east side.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sgt. Clint Robison said officers found a paycheck stub on the floor of a restroom where the attack took place. Robison said the paycheck stub apparently fell out of Bakken's pocket.

Robison said the victim was able to provide detailed descriptions of tattoos on her attacker's body and similar tattoos were found by police on Bakken's body.
