Letter: Notch baby willing to forgo more aid

I am a 75-year-old notch baby and am very thankful. To me, it was a perfect time to come into this world.
With my Social Security and a small pension from the state of Florida, I can live modestly.
Having been retired for 11 years, I have received many more benefits from Social Security than the amount of funds put into my account.
If the proposed Notch Fairness Act is passed, at $5,000 each for the 1 1/2 million still-living notch babies, then we are talking about $7.5 billion. I say, forget it.
The majority of the notch babies relying on Social Security as their only source of income do receive food stamps and subsidized housing, paying only 30 percent of their income for rent, plus many other benefits for low-income senior citizens.
