Device credited with saving two lives

The man and woman living in the house suffered slight smoke inhalation. They were treated at the scene and released.
The fire was ruled accidental.
Arriving firefighters found the fire blowing out the front windows and door of the single-story home.
The two people in the home said they were in bed and heard the smoke detector activate. Fire officials say the smoke detectors saved the lives of the pair.
Damage was estimated at $60,000.
