Friday, March 27, 1998 | 10:29 a.m.
M. Catherine Ray will present "I'm With You Now: Communication Through Incurable Illness" from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 30. Ray is a hospice educator, author and hospice volunteer. In 1984, she began to specialize in hospice communication, providing hospice workers with training in patient-family communication. Ray is the author of "I'm Here to Help: A Hospice Worker's Guide to Communicating with Dying People and Their Loved One." The book is used to train staff and volunteers at hospices all over the nation.
"Hospice: A Photographic Inquiry" documents individual perspectives on the emotional and collaborative experience of living and working in hospice environments. Investigating the hospice movement by immersing artists in the world of patients, families and health care providers, the traveling exhibition is organized by the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., in collaboration with the National Hospice Foundation.
Seminar admission is $15, which includes lunch. For more information and reservations, call Gary Garcia, 796-3110.
