High school choir invited to national competition
Friday, March 27, 1998 | 10:31 a.m.
Choirs from 31 states will vie in the invitation-only competition April 23-26 in Branson, Mo.
It's a special honor for High Society to be chosen to represent Nevada in the competition since this is the show choir's first performance year.
The choir is seeking the public's help in raising money for the trip, which costs $18,000, including airfare, hotel and transportation while in Branson. The names of sponsors will be placed on a banner to be taken to the competition and also shown at all High Society local performances.
Persons interested in helping the choir should contact Cynthia Lanctot, director of choral activities at Cimarron-Memorial High School, 799-4400, ext. 260.
