LV attorney appointed Lincoln County DA

Dunleavy, who served as Nye County's district attorney from 1986 to 1991, said he welcomes the opportunity to return to the "beauty and quality of life" in a rural county.
He conceded that "cow county politics can be tough" but said he isn't worried about facing the same fate as Dill in the one-person office. Dill's political demise came after he reduced a felony sexual assault charge to a gross misdemeanor in a plea bargain.
Dunleavy said he was selected by the Lincoln County Commission from eight attorneys being considered for the position, including former Las Vegas Municipal Judge Greg Barlow, who is now working as Caliente's city attorney.
Dunleavy chose not to seek re-election in Nye County in 1991 and moved to Las Vegas, where he primarily has practiced criminal defense law.
