Two killed crossing Highway 50
Saturday, March 21, 1998 | 11:25 a.m.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said Perry Eugene Sims, 56, and Joanne Lee Boyle, 42, both of Fallon, were not in a crosswalk when they were hit Friday night.
Troopers said a car driven by William Souza, 58, of Fallon, was westbound on Highway 50 in the slow lane when the accident occurred.
Alcohol by the driver was not a factor, and toxicology reports on both victims were pending, troopers said.
Sims was pronounced dead at the scene and Boyle died after being taken to Washoe Medical Center in Reno.
