Letter: Metro budget hike request unreasonable

For example, a Metro corrections officer was recently charged with 16 counts of sexual assault at a detention center. What kind of losers are they hiring for these positions that pay about $40,000 per year? For that kind of money, Metro should be able to find plenty of people who could hand out blankets, watch the security monitors without falling asleep and refrain from molesting the inmates.

Along with the suicides and drug sales we hear about in the local detention centers, we now wonder whether the staff is worse than the prisoners.
