EAT’M presents musical talent

As part of the three-day smorgasbord of music, industry insiders and the public will feast on 150 live showcase performances at more than a dozen venues on and around the Las Vegas Strip.

EAT'M is produced by Las Vegas-based Tenner & Associates and hosted by Las Vegas Events and the Desert Inn hotel-casino.

The list of local performers ranges from blues favorites like the Ruffnecks and John Earl and the Boogieman Band to newcomers like Tenderheart and Tim and a Clue.

Artists will perform at venues from the from the Fremont Street Experience to the Desert Inn, Ra nightclub at Luxor, the MGM Grand, Harrah's, the Huntridge Theater, The Beach and Gameworks.

EAT'M festivities start May 13 at Boulder Station with a performance by the Bacon Brothers (featuring actor Kevin Bacon), straight off their sold-out national tour.

EAT'M concludes May 16 in the Desert Inn parking lot with the kickoff of the Vans Warped Tour -- one of last year's most successful alternative music tours, sponsored by Vans footwear. The Las Vegas lineup will include The Vandals, MXPX, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Aquabats, The Smooths, Mad Caddies and Wank.

Following the Vans Warped Tour concert, the Ra nightclub at Luxor will host an EAT'M wrap party, featuring some of the world's hottest deejays.

Besides being able to catch 150 new acts over the course of the festival, EAT'M participants can attend focus sessions, mentor sessions with music industry luminaries and educational panels covering all aspects of the music industry, including recording, publishing and touring. EAT'M will also conduct continuing legal education courses for entertainment industry lawyers, and local law firms Quirk & Tratos and Jimmerson & Hansen are sponsoring panels.

Recent additions to the EAT'M sponsor list are Ra, Caesars Palace, Norwest Bank, the Rio hotel-=casino, A&M Records, Kung Fu Records and Punch Records.

Platinum registration allows members of the public admission to all events, including opening and clsoing parties, all conferences and mentoring seminars and every concert. EAT'M wristbands, covering admission to all performances, are $30 at the EAT'M office in Las Vegas until April 15, when the price goes up to $50.
