A Boulder City woman was killed Thursday night when her car went out of control on State Route 161 near Jean about 32 miles south of Las Vegas.
At 9:20 p.m., Janice Hodges, 59, was driving east in a 1995 Pontiac when her car veered off the roadway, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Steve Harney said.
She was ejected after her car hit a chain link fence near the tortoise preserve and flipped over, Harney said. Hodges suffered massive head and chest injuries, he said.
