* WHAT: The Golf Digest Collegiate Invitational, presented by Taylor Made, features 15 of the nation's top collegiate golf teams competing in a 54-hole stroke-play tournament.

* WHEN/WHERE: Friday though Sunday at the Desert Inn Golf Club. Admission is free.

* TIME: Play begins at 7:30 a.m. each day.

* THE FIELD: UNLV (1), Arizona State (18), Clemson (7), East Tennessee State (12), Florida (14), Houston (8), New Mexico (16), Oklahoma State (6), Pepperdine, Southern Methodist, Southern California (21), Texas, Texas Christian (9), Virginia (24) and Wake Forest. (Rankings in parentheses.)

* DID YOU KNOW: Four players in the field played on the victorious United States Palmer Cup team last summer, which was captained by UNLV head coach Dwaine Knight: Charles Warren of Clemson, Brad Elder of Texas, Bo Van Pelt of Oklahoma State and Alberto Ochoa of TCU.
