Two jailed after pulling a gun on police officer

Investigators said Taggart Parrish ran from the car in which he had been riding early Monday and when an officer gave chase, Parrish pulled a handgun from his belt and turned toward the officer with the weapon.

The officer was able to disarm Parrish and both men were treated for minor injuries and released. Parrish was held under $145,560 bail on charges of battery on a police officer and several narcotics counts.

The driver of the car, Yancey Cannon, was jailed under $58,000 bail on possession of methamphetamine and marijuana and other narcotics charges.
