Fulstone and Weishaupt filed complaints against each other after the fight outside the Yerington library, but now "wish the matter to end," Estes said.
Estes was preparing to send the case to the Nevada Attorney General's office when the public officials made the request, the Mason Valley News reported.
Estes said he reviewed reports on the incident and the case "appeared to be trivial." Police said details were sketchy, but a shoving match apparently took place between the two during a meeting on water issues.
Weishaupt was placed on administrative leave a day after the fight and has since agreed to step down no later than June 30, when his contract expires.
Fulstone filed a misdemeanor battery complaint against Weishaupt, while Weishaupt filed a felony intimidating a public officer complaint against Fulstone.
