Four die in weekend traffic accidents

The North Las Vegas accident occurred about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Police said two vehicles were eastbound with individuals in the vehicles conversing with each other. One vehicle left the road, overcorrected and struck the second, then hit a third vehicle.
Several of the passengers were ejected at the scene. The names of the two people killed were withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Sunday afternoon, a passenger in a car traveling on Harris Springs Road near Route 157 was killed when the vehicle went off the road and overturned. The name of the victim was not released.
A 56-year-old woman died of injuries suffered Sunday evening when she was struck while crossing Las Vegas Boulevard north of the downtown area. The victim - Jean Yokoyama - died Sunday night at University Medical Center, according to a nursing supervisor.
