Reno PR official dies

Curtis, who died Wednesday night at Saint Mary's Regional Center, helped promote the 1960 Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley and helped establish local chapters of national professional organizations for public relations and journalism.
His career included two stints in Harrah's advertising and public relations department. He also ran his own advertising company for several years.
His survivors include his wife Ruth; sons Mark Jr., Kelly Mark and David; stepdaughter Robyn Powers; stepson Reed Lewis Powers, and five grandchildren.
A tribute will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a memorial with the UNR Foundation in care of the Higginbotham Endowment.
