Mirage winding down employee search

The Mirage Resorts employee search is winding down to its last two weeks for individuals to apply for 5,800 job openings.
Positions are available at the company's four local resort properties: Bellagio, The Mirage, Treasure Island and the Golden Nugget.
All positions are available including food server, dealer, supervisor and department heads, said Arte Nathan, vice president of human resources. Most applicants must be 21 years of age.
The Bellagio, expected to open in October, has filled 3,200 positions with individuals already working for one of the Mirage resorts.
Although no specific numbers were available on how many applications have been collected, "we are right on track to meet the more than 80,000 applicants expected," said Jenn Michaels, director of public relations.
The Mirage Resorts process is not first come, first served.
While applications have been taken since April, those who apply on the last day, July 2, have an equal chance for all positions. The company will not begin extending offers to any applicants until the last application has been reviewed.
"We have always done it (the application process) that way," Nathan said. "That way the last person in the door has an equal chance. It gives us the broadest selection and the applicant the better chance."
After July 2, the interviewing process will begin and job offers will be made Aug. 17.
If interested in a position, applicants must call 693-8888 to make an appointment to fill out an application at the Mirage Resorts employment center.
