UNLV golfer on GTE academic team

UNLV sophomore golfer Jeremy Anderson has been named to the 1997-98 men's GTE Academic All-America third team. Selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, there were 15 student-athletes selected to each of the three teams. Anderson, who was one of only three golfers selected, has a 3.38 grade point average majoring in business management. He was also recently selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America as a second-team All-American. Anderson was named to the All-WAC and All-District 8 teams this year, received WAC Golfer of the Week and Month honors as well as the College Golf Foundation's Rolex National Golfer of the Month award for November. Anderson was also selected to participate in the second annual Palmer Cup in St. Andrews, Scotland, Aug. 3-4, which pits the best U.S. collegians with their counterparts from Europe.
